LIFE FOR RENT

A story about love and loss, the give and take of friendship and family, and the beauty that can be found in things remade.

Regan Matthews keeps busy. In stillness there’s pain, and there’s no peace in the quiet. There’s only the things she’s lost; her parents, her fiancé. If Regan hadn’t had her sister Kaitlyn and her best friend Kinnon, she would have drowned in her grief.

Kinnon Mannix is the hulking, scowling definition of solid. He’s always made smart investments, enjoyed long relationships, and been whatever Regan has needed since Daniel died. But Kinnon’s not the open book Regan presumes him to be.

Regan has a choice. If she wants to sink, oblivion will welcome her. But if she wants to swim, she’s got to start helping herself. It’s not the future she imagined for herself all those years ago, but it’s still a future worth fighting for.

Eighteen lives are relying on her to believe in second chances. Her sister has run out of give, and Kinnon has withdrawn his heart. But there’s beauty in things remade, and it’s time for Regan to put herself back together.
